Winter Break

Winter Break is the week of Feb. 20. We will not have classes during that week. Wednesday, Feb. 22, is Ash Wednesday. Please bring your child to church to receive ashes. There is a scripture service at 4:30 that takes only half an hour. Mass is at 7:00.


2nd Grade Bread Blessing

All second grade children will have their bread blessed in class the week of Feb. 13. Please bake bread with your child the night before class, put in a zip lock bag, and write your child’s name on the bag. This is the only time bread will be blessed. Children will bring the bread home to share with the family. They will bring a special prayer to say before the share the bread. If you have grape juice handy, the two will be the perfect example of Eucharist. This is a very special project for the children. Get the whole family involved.


Pajama Bottoms

We have noticed an increasing number of children wearing pajama bottoms to class. This is not allowed for any reason. We will remove the child from class and call to have a parent bring appropriate clothing. The child will be absent from class. No matter what name they are called, they are still pajama bottoms. Please watch what your child wears to class.

Mark Your Calendar Now

Family Faith & Fun Week is the week of March 19. The theme this year is Lent. All children will come to class from 6:00-8:00 on their regular class night. Parents must accompany them and little siblings are welcome too. We will mail reminders early in March but please put this date on your calendar now.


What’s Happening at St. Isidore?

Children in all grades are being tested on their prayers. Every grade has a prayer list that is accumulative through the grades. Please help your child learn his/her prayers.

Second grade children are working toward First Eucharist by learning about the Mass. Nothing substitutes for being there so, please, bring your child to Mass.

Eighth grade students will begin their Confirmation text at the end of the month. It is very important that they not miss class during this final stage of preparation.

With the coming of Lent children will make many different kinds of crafts and projects. Please check their folders and admire their work. Refrigerators have room for religious crafts too. All grades will pray the Stations of the Cross in the church once during Lent.

Lent is a wonderful time for the family to pray together. Make prayer your family project for Lent.
