RUN THE PLANK
3 Miles of Faith |
|
St Isidore Catholic Church, in conjunction with Immanuel Lutheran Church and St Peter Lutheran Church,
are pleased to announce that we will be partnering to host the First Annual “Run The Plank – 3 Miles of
Faith” 5K run to be held the morning of Saturday, June 30, 2012. This marks the first time that all 3
churches along Romeo Plank will collaborate on one big community building event. We are very excited
about this new initiative and are hoping for a crowd in excess of 2,500 participants. The race will start
at Immanuel Lutheran (21 Mile & Romeo Plank), pass by St Isidore (23 Mile & Romeo Plank) and finish at
St Peter Lutheran (24 Mile & Romeo Plank). There will be a family carnival at the conclusion of the race
on the grounds of St Peter Lutheran.
At this time, volunteers are needed to help put this event together. We especially need help in building
and designing a new website for this event. If you have any interest in the planning for the event or want
to assist the day of the event, please contact Mike Fontana via phone at 248-224-5583 or via e-mail at
mfontana31@gmail.com
More info will follow as soon as the details have been completed. Please note that the proceeds from this
event will go towards Soles4Souls, which is a non-profit group that helps those individuals living in natural
disaster areas such as Haiti, Japan and around Hurricane Katrina in need of shoes and other footwear.
